These bars are made with oats (good source of fibre), whole wheat flour, applesauce, raisins and cinnamon.

¼ cup skim milk

½ cup applesauce (organic, unsweetened if possible)

¼ cup Splenda brown sugar replacement

2 egg whites

½ tsp vanilla

½ cup whole wheat flour

½ tsp baking soda

½ tsp cinnamon

¼ tsp salt

1½ cups rolled oats

½ cup raisins


1Preheat oven to 350F (175C).

2Beat together the milk, applesauce and sugar replacement until creamy.

3Add egg whites and vanilla. Beat well.

4In a separate bowl combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt.

5Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir just until combined.

6Stir in oats and raisins and mix well.

7Transfer to small, square metal baking pan sprayed with non stick cooking spray.

8Bake for 30-35 minutes or until done.
