1Preheat oven 350F (180C). Lightly grease a 8” square baking pan.
2Sift together cocoa powder, flours, baking powder, xanthan gum and salt into a mixing bowl.
3Over low heat melt 1 cup of chocolate chips with the agave nectar until just melted. Stir in the vanilla.
4Pour chocolate mixture into the dry ingredients and mix gently until well combined.
5Mix together the mashed banana and applesauce. Fold into the chocolate batter. Fold in the chopped dates.
6Spoon mixture into pan and spread evenly. Bake for 20 minutes. Then sprinkle the extra ½ cup of chocolate chips over the mix. Place back in the oven for 15-20 minutes. Brownies are done when skewer inserted in centre of cake comes out clean. Let cool at room temperature before serving.
